Ruby red in colour, a beer inspired by King Alfred’s victory at the Battle of Edington in 878, the very spot where we brew our ales. This dark red ale has a complex malt character with the gentle aroma of Citra Hops.

Can from Allington Farm Shop, Chippenham. Clear amber-brown with an off white head. Sweet, fruity and chewy from the off - a definite toffee apple vibe. There's some peach and marmalade before a light twiggy dryness and mild bitterness, with a little peppery spice in the aftertaste. Interesting and very enjoyable - I liked this one a lot.
