Has this beer anything to do with Vikings? To be honest… no, apart from the name Happ which is old Norse for good fortune. But it is good and we liked the name. Citra is the predominant hop, balanced with English olicana and malted oats for a smooth mouth feel. There is the citra zing yet not too overpowering. Just a good, highly drinkable IPA. We love it and we’re fairly sure those Vikings would too.

440ml can at the Queens Road Tap, Leicester. Mid-gold, slightly hazy with a decent little white head. Light grassy aroma, getting less of the Citra and Olicana than I'd expected. Sweet taste with light tropical fruit character and some herbal flavours. Bitterness in the finish. Medium body, very heavy carbonation. A bit of an odd one, trying to get my head around it.
