Crowler from BD Inverurie. It pours very deep brown with a thick, frothy beige head. The aroma is earthy, damp wood, funk, warning spice, gingerbread, dried fruits, currants, prune, fruit cake, mellow whisky, toffee and fudge. The taste is initially dry, toasty, damp wood, dried fruits, date, prune, plum, dried fig, cranberry, warming spice, gingerbread, umami, liquorice, eccles cake, whisky, vanilla fudge and a touch of char with a dry, toasted spice finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Nice balance to it. Works well.
