The minute you crack your can, aroma of grapefruit, mango and pine hit you in the face; like a beaver slapping his tail on a pristine small body of water in Ontario. Canuck pours a deep gold, bordering on burnt orange that produces a tight snowy white toque. Take one last nose before getting into the liquid, which you’ll soon find will be hard to put down. Soft carbonation leads into a sweet honeyish start before it gives way to more grapefruit, tropical citrus, canned peaches and pine. Light to medium body with a very dry finish. Drink at your local pub, in the fish hut, campground, the beach, in a canoe (responsibly), playing shinny, on a log…actually, anywhere north of the 49th.

Is it cheating to make a solid, refreshing IPA, and then call it a pale ale to make it even more impressive? Refreshing and fresh hop profile plays bigger than the listed 35 ibu. Bready malt and a touch of soapiness round it out, with strong effervescence adding to the drinkability.

On tap at volo.
The aroma coming off this cask was incredible.
Amazing juicy citrucy aromas. Every citrus fruit imaginable is in here somehwere. Good solid malting keeping the mouthfeel and bitterness in check and light enough to make this a solid drinking beer. Refreshing, and exploding with flavor. A really great beer.

650ml from the lcbo. Amber pour with a fluffy white head. I’m seeing alot of people talking about a buttery diacetyl aroma and flavor but I’m not getting any. I guess I got lucky. A great citrus aroma with some juicy hops and a slight caramel maltiness. Quite bitter in the finish but the hops are really nice with some great citrus notes. I’m really quite impressed.

Pale colour and it's bright. Hoppy aroma. Bitter, grapefruity palate, but with good balancing malt.

Ordentliches Pale Ale mit der nötigen Harzigkeit im Abgang. Grapefruit im Geschmack, ordentlich bitter, hinten trocken. Das passt.

473ml can. Pours a hazy orange-gold with a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that leaves soapy lacing. Sweet fruity aroma of caramel malt, grapefruit, orange peel, mango, peach and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of caramel malt, grapefruit peel, orange, peach, pine resin and earthy yeast in a dry, bitter grass finish. Light to medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Well balanced.
