Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and a little sour fruit. Flavor is quite sweet and light acidic. Sweet and light acidic finish. 010314

75 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity and crisp citric. Flat. Smooth fruity, light wooden and mild citric. Smooth fruity and light citric finish.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Small head with short duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are fruits, cheese, cellar aromas, caramel and malt. Earthy and flat.

Bottle @ Vilvordia Bierproef Festival, Jette, Brussels. 7 years old. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a fast disappearing off-white head. Has a fruity spicy slightly tart aroma with dusty hints. Tart fruity spicy flavor with some dusty and some earthy hints. Has a fruity malty spicy and slightly tart dusty finish. Pretty good for a 7 year old Fantome.

Orange burgundy ale with a thick off white head. Light lactic notes in aroma, strong barnyard, undescribable spices (thyme?). Nice sourness without puckering effect, with sour cherries, and earthy soil notes. Crazy. Shared with Joris. Dank u Joris! Ursel, May 2 2005.

The Santé range (every year a new one - +1 ! - is a particular breed: a special brew made by Dany Prignon at Fantôme on behalf of the "Heikantse Bierliefhebbers"; the profits are donated to a charity. The tasted example is 1 yr old (2001) and has developped surprisingly well. Colour is foxy-orange, with even an orange shine in the thick head (quite stable). Nose: vineous, no oxidation, some acids (lactic, malonate). Taste : very refreshing, tart, spicey (dried orange peel, confited orange, turmeric), sherbet-like. Something citrussey for sure, some acidity, never outspoken. Acids have yet foregone all oxidation. Mouthfeel: refreshing, slight tingling sensation at tonguesides. Aftertaste: surprisingly clean palate, maybe some ironoxide?
