The original Oktoberfest beer. A deeper golden to copper beer was the drink at oktoberfest up until the early 1990's when the modern, paler Festbier usurped it. Marzen is a celebration of beautiful Vienna and Munich malts that are base malts toasted to a higher degree imparting lots of rich bread crust and biscuity characters. Hops are used only for balance here and in just sufficient quantity to provide enough bitterness to give a clean finish.

0.44 l can at the Valhalla Viking Metal Craft Beer Bar, Zagreb. Clear amber, medium off-white head. Lightly malty and caramely. Moderately malty, toasty, spicy and caramely flavour. A fruity touch. Nice bitterness. Medium body. Clean.

Canned 440ml. -at Ambasada Zagreb. Darker golden coloured, medium sized white head, light grainy nose. Sweetish malty, bready, light grainy, slightly fruity and herbal with bitterish finish.
