Mild säuerlicher Malzbeginn. Weich, cremig, wenig Vanille. Die Säure verschwindet schnell, unterdurchschnittlich karbonisiert. Weich bleibend, etwas herb, Noten von Schokolade. vollmundig, weniger holzig als gedacht. Mittellanger Abgang, schokoladig, nett. 10/11/9/11/12/11

0.33 l bottle from the brewery's web shop, best before December 2034. Hazy, very dark ruby to black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Intensely sweetish-malty, slightly roasty, quite vinous-fruity aroma of red wine, oak, vanilla, caramel, dark chocolate and some coffee. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, a bit sourish, gently roasty and fairly vinous-fruity taste of dark chocolate, licorice, ash, lots of red wine, oak and some caramel, followed by a long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly tart, fairly woody finish. Medium to full body, slightly astringent and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very interesting beer, according to the label brewed in 2019 (!), aged in red wine barrels for the following five to six years. Maybe a bit too much barrel actually, has taken over completely.
