In the late 2000’s we created a beer to celebrate all the best of summer - baseball, beach days, and barbecues. Today, that beer has grown into the most iconic seasonal beer ever and the official craft beer of summer - Summer Love. Summer Love is a refreshing Golden Ale that delivers big flavor through its fine balance of clean pilsner malts and citrusy, earthy Simcoe and Tettnang hops.

Hay and dandelion aroma. Clear yellow, thin head. Lilly flavor, very dry. Marigold finish. Very floral, bitter, off balance. Could really use a greater malt presence.Its more like drinking vase water than beer, and therefore, not something I particularly want in the summer.

Bottle from Harvard’s in Augusta. Pours clear golden color with white head. Aromas of caramel and earthy hops with some fruitiness. Lightly sweet fruity flavor with some biscuit malt and earthy hops. Light to medium body with lively carbonation. Crisp and refreshing.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours gold with a creamy/bubbly white head. Strong citric hop aroma. Med body. Flavor is light grapefruit/citrus/herb/spice over a little light caramel. It’s quite dry. Amazing flavor for a light summer beer. Must be the water.

12 oz.bottle. $2 single @ Lemon Tree. Pours a standard gold or blond color, with just a touch of haze. Direct pour kicks up a manageable bubbly head. Smell has some pleasant light malts. Taste is much more hop forward than is usual for this style,and it’s impressive. They mention only German hops, and I’m for that, but this is either loaded with green hops or there’s some American Cascades in there. Or a recessive malt profile just brings the hops up front. Quite tasty summer beer.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a pale yellow color with a large foamy yellow-white head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sour, tangy, perfumey and a touch skunky. The flavor was tangy and tart lemon, windex, perfume and a bit of skunk. Long, tart windex finish. Light body. Not good.

Looks like any other pale lager. Smells a little sweet with a slight hop olfactory. First taste is oooooh, a little hoppy for golden or blonde ale. Yes, this is more like an APA, way too much for a goldenale. Gets a little more skunky or farmy manure on the aroma during the session, but not in a bad way. Does not hide the alky well, and this too is odd for a golden ale. Not sure what to think about this brew. Muchh more bitter personality than I expected. Wew. Typical victory near over the top brew. Medium bitter finish.

Aroma: The nose is fairly malty and floral with some light citrus notes
Appearance: The pour is a clear yellow color with a small white head and drippy lace
Flavor: The taste is much like the nose, moderately sweet with a moderately bitter finish
Palate: The body is fairly light, it gets drier as it finishes, and drinks relatively smoothly
Overall Impression: This is a solid beer, it is drinkable and quite seasonable, but it certainly isn't anything exceptional. I would drink it again, and I could see it making for a good BBQ/Tailgate type of beer.

Whole Foods Market, DC sixer ($10): Whenever I see a new Victory beer, I hesitate for a split second and then promptly buy it. Aside of feeling some hometown pride, I know that I will be seldom if ever disappointed. Anyway, this beer was no exception to the general rule. In any case, this beer pours a golden color with a minimal head that dissipates pretty quickly. The aroma is rock solid. It comes out with subtle but flavorful German hops, with a mild bread and malt background. In drinking the beer, there is little complexity; instead, there is only perfect balancing and well thought out flavor. Bitter, but only a little bit. No sweetness. Nothing abrasive here at all, just good summer beer.

Draught. Pours with a completely clear golden body with a thin but lasting white head. Aromas are lightly hoppy, quite fruity. Some esters, floral, perfumey hops, citrus. Malt is background to the hops and esters. Mostly bready, nondescript. Flavors are hoppy, citrus, grassy. Malt is grainy and hay like. Shockingly good session beer. Floral notes, light esters, pineapple. Dry and crisp. Medium to lively bubbles, light bodied, dry. Very pleasantly surprised by this one!

Pours bright gold into a Sam glass. Bright white head with medium retention recedes leaving thin sheets. Tropical fruit aromas. Mildly crisp with front to back tropical pineapple and grapefruit followed by a lasting grapefruit pith finish.
