Dryhopped Quadruple IPA
Ingredienser: Vand. Bygmalt: Pilsner. Hvedemalt: Spelt. Humle: Cryo Pop, Nelson Sauvin, Motueka, Moutere, Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo, Citra, Cascade. Gær: US-Ale.
It’s no secret that we’re fond of our hops at Amager Bryghus. And we use a shitload of them. Our head brewer Jacob thoroughly examines every email he receives from our hop suppliers. And messages containing news of new hop varieties or experimental hop releases sends him into a Zen like state of mind or, you might even say, borderline aroused. Over the years Jacob has tried hundreds of hop combinations, but making up new ones never seems to tire him out. Quite the contrary. Heavenly Hops is a series of new beers containing hops or hop combinations we have rarely or never used before, or experimental hops that haven’t even got a proper name yet. And no, we won’t use the same base beer for all of them, creating a tedious line of Pale Ales or whatever. The beers will naturally all be within the spectrum of hoppy beer styles, but different styles and strengths, that is. To us, hops are almost divine. We hope you’ll enjoy this beer series, Jacob’s tribute to the heavenly hops.

0.44l can in Sappada. Aroma of mango, vanilla, peach, plums and resin. Pours cloudy amber color with medium sized soapy tan-like head and fair lacing. Taste starts with sweet toasted malt and resinous, following is dried fruity, citrusy, herbal and stone fruity, mouthfeel is smooth and warm alcoholic, while finish is heavy bitter. Full body, thick oily texture and average carbonation in palate. I can only foresee strong headache…

Thanks fonefan! Hazy orange colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is toffee, some citrus, mild oaty and some floral and fruity tones to it. Flavour is fruity, floral, some nectary and mild toffeeish and caramelly tones. Rather sweet aftertaste, as the alcohol gives the sweetness some support.

Sample, thanks fonefan! Clear mahogany colour, small head. Caramelly nose with strawberries and raisins. Very sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Raisiny brandy, strawberry jam. Sticky, warming finish.

Pours orange with an orange creamy head. looks very intense.
Amazing hop forward aroma, fat juicy very hoppy herbal but still very well blended and rounded - I really dig this aroma.
Flavor is quite intense, very heavy-alc-malty with the hops struggling slightly to get their place. In ways it is to me more like a hoppy barley wine than a very strong ipa. It is quite good once i rethink it as a barley wine and approach it more like a sipper. texture matches the rest, it's quite thick and in no way even remotely watery.

44 cl can from the brewery's webshop poured into a snifter glass. Hazy orange with a thin white head. Fruity aroma with citrus, pines, resin, exotic fruits, and grasses. The taste is bitter. Full body. Dry and bitter finish. Really hoppy, very rich. Maybe even too much of a good thing?

Draft. An amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, spices, hops, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, and hop juice, leading to a bitter. OTT 7/3/7/4/14
