Pint at the brewery is a clear brown, a little beige head. Nose is simple, black tea, brown sugar, grist, earthy. Flavor is a bit tannic, brown sugar, toasted malt. The tannins are a bit overdone, over mashed maybe. Just off dry.

tHIS MUST BE LABELED WRONG, WAS EXPECTING A SOUR BEER. Why is ther no mention of coffee in the description of this beer? It is coffee all the way. Nice and dark with a good coffee aroma. SERIOUS COFFEE FLAVORS YET IT IS NEVER OVER THE TOP. wHAT ELSE CAN BE SAID. jUST A GOOD OVERALL COFFEE BEER. never OVERDONE.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a dark brown color with orange highlights and a small soapy beige head that left no lacing. The aroma was bitter, roasty, malty, wood and almost vanilla. The flavor was bitter and roasty woody, smoke and brewed coffee. Long wood and brewed coffee finish. Medium body. Meh.
