Brewerd with Melissa cole, this tasty tipple is a Belgian style tripel with ester and spice aromas and the flavour to match. A real taste sensation that should be enjoyed sensibly.

Bottle shared at Chriso. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The nose is sweet, pear drops, peach, apple, melons, tinned fruits, grain, toasty and grain. The taste is sweet, boozy, pear drops, melon, apple, toasted grain, candied peel, dough and hay with a dry, sweetish finish. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Not bad. A touch sweet for me, but decent enough anyhow.

330ml bottle shared with jeevan. Pours clear amber copper, no head, bare a thin white ring. Aromas are estery, bananas, clove. Tastes estery too, some sherbet. Bit odd, not quite Belgian. Belgian-ish.

Bottle from Lewis. Appearance - honey colour with gentle bubbles, not much head at all. Nose - toffee, some bananas, Taste - sweet banana, some toffee again. Palate - medium bodied with a rich sweet texture and a fairly fresh finish, despite the style. Overall - all estery. Perhaps needs some more tang from the Belgian yeast.

Bottle from Cornelius. Clear rose coloured body with a disappointingly short-lived head. Steady carbonation. No lacing. Aroma is very inviting - star anise, strawberry syrup and a faint hint of banana. Flavour is warming and sweet with lashings of honey, red fruits and a dash of pepper. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation prickle. A bit overly sweet for my liking, but it’s an interesting Tripel that hides the 9.5% ABV very well.
