Draft at Bocktown Robinson. Pours a dark brown color with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma rye and roasted malts playing together nicely. The taste is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, rye, bitter hops. Medium-full bodied. Nice beer.

Had this on tap at the bocktown monaca. Barely any aroma, just a clean friendly olfactory. First taste is roasty dark and bitter. This is quite like many impy stouts I’ve tasted. Perhaps there is tad of hops in there but can’t tell fer sure. Roasty and strong, much more than the typical lager can do. Somewhat rude, yet on style. Barely any co2. Long bitter impy stout finish. Mouthcoating roto-tiller beer drinken experience.

On tap at Fat Heads in Pittsburgh. Pours almost black with a thin head. Aromas are nice. A mix of peat, bourbon, smoke and prunes or other dark fruit. Flavor is sweet and earthy with a fruity sweetness. Rue and sweet burnt brown sugar dominate with a slightly distracting medicinal edge to it all.

Sampled on draft at the Rivertowne Pub this beer poured a black color with a large foamy brown head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was roasty and dry with notes of coffee, vanilla, spice and pepper. The flavor was dryish with moderate notes of molasses, coffee, caramel, vanilla, spice and pepper. The finish was long and turned a bit sweet with notes of cocoa, coffee and molasses lingering. Thick and smooth body. Very nice.
