Bottle from Drinkmonger. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma of straw, shortbread and lemon. Flavour of grapefruit, gooseberry and passionfruit. Thin body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A simple Golden Ale, but I was expecting more flavour for the ABV.

500ml bottle from Grumpy Goat, Reading. Clear orange colour with a white head. Aroma is malty, toasted and a touch earthy. Flavour has a touch of sweet and a bitter finish. It has a surprising high carbonation.

Cask (gravity) @ EBF14 2013, 14th Egham Beer Festival, Egham United Services Club (EUSC), 111 Spring Rise, Egham, Surrey, England TW20 9PE.Clear medium orange yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, fruity, moderate hoppy, citrus, passion fruit, pineapple notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, fruity, passion fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130328]

Cask at Maidenhead Beer Festival 2013, Maidenhead FC, Berkshire. A straw coloured pour with a thin white head on top. Citrus, grapefruit aroma. Tastes grapefruit, citrus fruit, dry and slightly bitter.

Cask/GD at the 14th Egham Beer Festival at the EUSC, 28/03/13. Lightly hazed pale golden with a thin white head. Nose is ripe citurs fruits, bitter grapefruit, lemon, bitter fruits. Taste is a little sweeter than the nose suggests, lemon rind, light sugars, citrus fruits, marzipan. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dryish finish with some bitterness. Ok.

Cask at the 14th Egham Beer Festival. Straw coloured with a tight white head; mineral and gooseberry aroma - certainly in keeping with the idea that this is a wine-like beer; full and fruity in the mouth with a dry finish. Not bad, but perhaps Iām missing the point - why make a beer that tastes like wine?
