Deutlich gewürziger Malzantrunk. Angenehme und weitestgehend konstante Intensität, minimal herb. Die Kräuternoten bleiben prägend, etwas Anis, weich. Nett! 10/9/9/9/7/9

Re-rating (2015) - Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 30C - Christmas/Winter Specialty Spiced Beer). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 01-14. AROMA: spice aromas of cardamom and ginger, mixed with a sweet background and slight lacquer notes. APPEARANCE: ambar color and hazy. initial large ivy head with very poor retention and poor lacing for the rated 8% abv. TASTE: flavour equal to the aromas (ginger) with very faint supportive malt flavours. sweet background. low bitterness with a semi-dry to dry finish. PALATE: medium to thin body with medium-high carbonation. some alcohol warmth noticeable. OVERALL: an unbalanced Christmas ale too much strong on the spices (ginger) which masks the base beer (no malt support). low body for a specialty beer.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear deep amber with an off-white head. Tart and spicy nose. Medium-bodied only, some fruitiness but dominated by these x-mas spices - not sure entirely what they are, could be nutmeg, cardamom anf ginger. Again a sligt tartness. Even if it doesn’t feel all that rich there’s clearly some booze in the finish. 120713
