Deep Flavor. Hop On!
This knight rides alone with a lighter body than traditional black beers, lifted to its mount with a great show of hop bitterness. Lighter body than one would expect but deep in flavor. Notes of coffee and chocolate swirl from the glass while the flavors drift to sweet, dark malt. Balanced, earthy tones ride throughout this well-balanced brew.

Tap, from ratings backlog. Pours clear deep red hazel, medium tan head, dissipates quickly, good lacing. Aroma is roast, grain. Flavor is medium sweet, little bitterness, molasses notes. Medium body, high carbonation. Not really a lot going on here. Unfortunate.

A small, clear, dark amber to light brown beer with a small, light beige head. The aroma has roasted malts and some dark chocolate, with toffee and a touch of dried fruits. The flavor is a bit sweet, with roasted malts and some dark dried fruits. Medium body, pleasant carbonation level. Some bitterness in the mostly roasted finish. Not very true to style this one, but at least it tastes quite nice and it’s not flawed. 140118
