This small batch IPA brewed with debittered black malt for intense dark brown, near black color with restrained dark malt flavor and a splash crystal rye and oats for creaminess and subtle sweetness. Hopped intensely with Amarillo and Simcoe for a big hit of citrus and pine.

Aromas are roast, dark malt, leather, and a hint of molasses. Flavors are similar to nose. Kind of a black IPA / Stout. Pretty good.

473ml can. Opaque, darkest brown colour with average to huge, frothy to creamy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, dark beige to tan head. Citrusy fruity and piney, hoppy aroma, slightly chocolately, roasty, dark malty background, hints of orange, lemon and mandarine, all with a zesty touch; hints of coffee, cocoa and dark chocolate on the malty side. Taste is slightly chocolately, roasty dark malty and citrusy fruity, slightly piney hoppy, some roasty, dark malty as well as zesty, hoppy bitterness, hints of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, lemon, orange, mandarine, no residual sweetness, a weak touch of grassy tartness; lingering, more piney than citrusy finish. Slightly oily and creamy texture, fairly smooth, but mainly dry palate, medium, dense, mildly prickly carbonation. Relatively bitter, the citrusy flavours should profit from a tad more malty sweetness - nevertheless very nice overall.
