A premium pale ale with lots of aroma, bitterness and hop flavour. Made with late "Galaxy" hops from Australia, then balanced with plenty of "Brewer's Gold" from Germany.

Bottled, from random supermarket. Cloudy pale golden, mid sized head. Pineapple and lemon up front. Mid dry with light-medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Fruity firm crisp bready malt, some pineapple and an unfortunate touch of lemon. Mid bitter finish. A good base beer with an infection. Cannot find any date stamp.

500 ml bottle, from Tesco Express, Belfast. ABV 4.7%. Hops are Galaxy and Brewer’s Gold. Golden colour, moderate white head. Somewhat better aroma than the other two Hilden beers I had, but still not good - again notes of stale broth, but also hints of citrussy and spicy hops. The flavour has citrussy notes, but also hints of vinegar and wood, which may or may not be caused by an infection.

0.5l bottle @ The Diamond, Londonderry. Looks quite nice in the glass at least with a cloudy orangey golden body with a tall and really lasting eggshell colored head that's generously lacing down the sides of the glass. Oh, smells really nice also. Sweet and fruity with a nice not too aggressive hop bit. Sweet peach and some pale malts. Nice aroma. It's just about average on the carbonation and it has a thin oily texture in the mouth. Sweetish, not much hop resistance here, and it's really lightdrinkable. A little dryish. Some hop sweetness, and it is in general quite on the sweeter side of the Golden scale. Quite a nice not too complocated one. 07.06.2016
