500mL bottle, pours an opaque muddy diarrhea reddish brown with a tiny beige head - looks revolting. Aroma is almost all malts, with bready notes, light caramel, and sherry-like oxidation. Flavour is... how is this a double IPA? Notes of sherry-like oxidation, caramel, bready malts, brown sugar and medicinal, couch syrupy sweetness. Not sure how fresh this is, but the main Alko seemed content to sell it. Pretty atrocious stuff.

Utuisen ruskea olut pienehköllä, beigellä vaahdolla, joka jättää kivan ohuen vaahtokerroksen jälkeensä. Tuoksu suorastaan mainio. Makean karamellisen maltainen, mutta samalla myös siirappinen, havuinen ja aniksella höystetty. Hedelmääkin tästä löytyy aavistus. Maun osalta ensin huomaa vahvan karamellisen makean maltaisuuden hyökkäävän päälle. Loppupuolella humalan katkeruus nousee vahvasti esiin greippisellä höysteellä. Jälkimaku on kuitenkin vahvimmin maltaisen makea ja huulissa huomaa tahmaisen makeuden. Itse asiassa jälkimaku on todella pitkä ja makean maltaisuuden lisäksi myös mausteisen greippinen. Täyteläinen suutuntuma, hiilihappoja vähäisesti. Jälleen kerran huippuluokan olut Vakka-Suomelta. Omaan makuun mennään siinä rajoilla, onko greippisyyttä jo liikaa.

500ml Bottle - Copper red with a foamy head. Pine, caramel, grapefruit and some slightly earthy notes in the aroma. Pine, nuts, caramel and grapefruit all feature in the resinous and fruity taste.

Bottle 500 ml. Copper with amber color. Aroma: hops, nectar, juicy fruit with citrus, white port, essentia. Taste: fruit with berries, wine, maltiness, pleasant hop bitterness, slightly resinous and pine.

Bottle in our shabby Helsinki apartment. Hazy reddish deep amber beer, bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is a little soft, modest carbonation. Caramel toffee malts, creamy sweetness. Ripe fruits, sweet esters, mild citric peel and even milder bitterness. More caramel and dried fruits before a smooth semi dry finish. So ... just had Stadin American Barleywine which is double ipa like and now Prykmestar Double IPA which tastes like a barleywine. Tsk! Brewers eh? Wotcha ya gonna do? Decent.

Flaske 500ml fra Alko Muonio. Drukket på Nerstranda 26 Okt 15 som belønning for at ratingene fra i vår/sommer/høst er kladdet! Mørk gyldenbrun. Lavt litt farget skum. Flotte filigranser. Behagelig - litt tung fruktig - aroma. Myk munnfølelse. God fylde. Godt moden frukt med et vinøst preg - på grensen til at alkoholen skinner gjennom.

500ml bottle bought at Alko Arkadia. Pours a two-finger thick head slowly diminishing while leaving lacing rings down the glass. Cloudy dark apricot coloured body. Dried fruity aromas joined by earthy malts. Plums, apricot and mid-sweet malty flavours. Lingering bittersweet ending. Well bodied. Smooth on the swallow. Pleasing, not easy to drink though (hotel room, Helsinki 26.09.2015).
