Dark brown, thin head. Big weedy aroma, with fairly strong coffeeish note. There is a fair bit of coffee up front, and then lots of hop bitterness, light leafy character. While not 100% effective -there isn’t a lot of harmony between the hops and the coffee- it is a natural extension of the black IPA theme.

Pours very dark brown with a small off-white head.Nose shows roasted coffee, sweet crystal malt, soft roasted malt, piny and resinous hops. Tempting.Quite similar flavours, a good mix of coffee and roasted malt along with more pine. Seems to finish a bit abruptly though.Body feels a bit watery.

This was called simply the Black Coffee IPA, but I assume it’s the same beer - bought on tap from the Prince Wine Store Essendon. The aroma was an intoxicating mix of coffee, grapefruit and smoke. In the mouth it was more hoppy, but the same basic elements were there. Perhaps the only knock on it is that the palate was a little thin. A really nice drop, and I’m kind of regretting that I shared my 1l squealer with a friend
