A rich, smooth and playfully delicious stout. Nuanced aromas, subtly complex flavours and darkly seductive in appearance – this is a uniquely ‘Lincolnshire’ beer to satisfy and savour.

Cask-conditioned at the Old Fountain, Old Street 11/02/10. Near black in colour with a slight, tan head. Aroma of chocolate, raisins and milky coffee. Light mouth feel, with some caramel, more chocolate and a dry finish with a hint of Ash. Enjoyable.

Cask at the Elm Tree, Cambridge. Tar coloured with a thin tan head; aroma of chocolate malt and smoke; thin body with dry, chocolate malt flavours and a touch of spice followed by some short sugary sweetness; then a dry finish. Rather unbalanced.

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2004] A black beer with a brown head. The aroma is primarily of roasted malt, while the flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate and coffe, as well as a roasted end.
