Sample at the brewpub. Opaque black color with some dark brown around the edges. Medium off-white head that dissipates steadily, and stringy lacing. Roasted coffee in the nose along with some chocolate malt . Medium to full body with a roasted malt and coffee character, plus some hoppy and chocolatey notes. The finish is smooth and malty with a short coffee aftertaste. Would not have pegged this as an Imperial Stout, but as a normal one it’s okay.

Portland trip. Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a dark black color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma was faint sweet coffee. The flavor was sweet and bitter coffee and roasty malts. Not a whole lot else going on but pleasant. long bitter roasty finish. Medium body. Solid.

Basically black. Chocolate and roast in the lightish aroma. Creamy body...very creamy. Light roast and chocolate are quite subdued. The finish is kind of fudgey. No particular element shines but it’s not that bad a beer - better than the sum of its parts.
