Bottle, and like 99.9% of recent ratings! bought as part of Sainsbury’s Beer Hunt. Lager-y yellow, almost straw. No head, plenty carbonation. Pleasant but unbeer-y aroma: cinnamon, cloves, pepper and sarsaparilla. Taste is more of a disappointment: sweet and weak. Not much in the way of mouthfeel. So it was ok but not one I’d be rushing to try again.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Murrayfield [011013]
Amber, clear, no head, thin rim edge of glasss
Aroma - Strong herbal aroma, coriander, spicy, bit vegetal, slight ginger, getting only the added ingredients
Taste - Spicy, quite vegetal, herbal, quite peppery, light simple golden ale underneath
Palate - Thinnish body, spicy aromatic, soft sweet malts. Finish as main flavour that lingers, slight heat
Overall - An ordinary golden ale with obvious added ingredients chucked in.....pretty average overall

500ml bottle from Sainsbury’s like every one else - yellow body, thin white head. Nose is sweet lemon and ginger, and a spicy yeasty background. Body is a bit thin, the taste is a bit sweet. It’s okay, but I’m not overly enthused by it.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Golden. No head. Looks a lot like a glass of cider. Aroma is sweet malt. Some spiciness. Taste is sweet. Slightest hint of pepper. (If I hadn’t read that on the bottle, I wouldn’t have picked it up). Didn’t really like this one.

Bottle at home in London with Gordito. Pours clear, pale yellow with a slight, creamy white head. Nose has white grape, ginger, white pepper, hay. Light sweet flavor with heavy floral and spice notes, some pale bread. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. More flowers and spices in the finish, lightly tangy citrus, hay. Interesting.

500ml bottle at home. Pours clear gold with no head. Big bubbles. Smells of soap, pepper, bread, lemon. Taste is a bit weird, and not entirely pleasant. Too much sweet with the pepper not giving any heat. Odd.

50cl bottle from the Sainsbury’s Beer Hunt 2013 range. Clear pale gold thin white head. Perfumed aroma. Almost a bit of lager shandy aroma. Perfumed in mouth. Not great.

50cl bottle from the Sainsbury’s Beer Hunt 2013 range. A clear amber pour with a fast fading head; grainy aroma with a touch of coriander; more corinader inthe mouth, and perhaps some pepper; and a rather herbal finish. This deosn’t quite come together for me.

500ml bottle from Sainsburys, Shrewsbury. Aroma is herbal, taste brings lots of coriander, black pepper and a hint of delicious spice that’s hard to pin down. At first I thought it was Tizer, then maybe Ginger Ale.. then looking at the ingredients it has something called cardamom in it? Perhaps it’s that. In any case, this is a great flavoursome beer. Thankyou Sainsburys.
