Cask at Ginger Man, NYC
Black color. Dusty aroma of roasted malt. Medium body, dark chocolate flavor, caramel, residual sweetness, liquorice, a bit salty; lightly creamy. Good.

(On tap) Completely opaque black with a creamy, light brown head leaving some laces. Aroma is full of licorice. The body is nice and full with notes of burned malt and sweet licorice. Some malt bitterness. 170307

On tap at the brewery. Very dark brown colour, with a pock-marked head. Toasty notes amid chocolate malt and woody hopping punctuate the aroma. There’s actually quite a bit more hop to this than one would expect for the style. Long, woody, bitter finish loaded with dark chocolate. Not to style, but a nice stout, served with a partial nitro mix.
