Our justly famous best bitter, Blakeley’s No.1 is based on a close blend of Phoenix hop bitterness and fruit, a combination which persists rewardingly without tiring the palate.
Blakeley’s No. 1 is uniquely flavourful for a ’best’, deriving its character from the high levels of essential oils in its Cascade aroma hops - which also define its smooth, citrus finish. A handful of roasted barley in the grist provides a further finesse.

Typical english ale appearance with an alcohol hopped aroma, and watery hopped flavour. A plain beer to drink.

Russet colour; earthy hops, moderately bitter. Touch of caramel, dried peaches, tobacco, fairly quenching finish, but it was a sunny August afternoon in London.
