Head Brewer and Elevation Beer Company Co-founder Christian Koch fell in love with this style after visiting the beer halls of Cologne, Germany. First brewed for our local county rodeo, this is a flavorful session beer that feels right at home in craft beer venues and cowboy bars alike.
8 Second pours a straw color with a bright white head. High carbonation brings forward notes from our Kölsch yeast, giving it the crisp finish of a lager with the light fruit notes of an ale. This is our authentic interpretation of the Kölsch beers of Cologne.

Tap. Straw color. Mild gain aroma. Well carbonated. On the sweet side for the style, and decent palate. Easy drinking as a pale lager substitute.

On draught at The Kitchen in Denver. The beer pours a clear yellow-gold color with lots of rising bubbles and a medium fizzy white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of grassy hops, malt and fruit. Light-bodied with flavors of herbal hops, fruit and toasted malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a grassy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Blond, slightly hazy and a little bit grassy. Lots of sweet pale malt. Sweet palate, some grassy hop, light wheaty tartness but a touch of footy yeast character as well. As a klsch goes, this would be fairly sweet, borderline out of balance.

16 ounce bottle - pours a hazy light gold - very low carbonation, though, with a minimal lace - there is a nice floral hop character to the nose, along with a touch of mineral and soft wheat tones - simple, but inviting - carbonation is a little low, but the texture is decent - fairly simplistic flavor, even for the style, but fairly enjoyable - medium dry, with low bitterness - some drying mineral character, the light tang of wheat, subtle hop flavor - finish has a mild note of DMS, but otherwise okay, despite its simplicity.
