Cask, hand pull at The Queen Vic, Aberdeen. It pours clear russet brown with a sturdy beige head. The aroma is sweet, hearty malts, brown bread, fruit cake, fruit pie, raisin, sultanas, plum, fig, toffee and toasty brown sugars. The taste is hearty sweet malts off the bat... Scottish tablet, toasty brown sugars, toffee crisp, brown bread, squidgy malt loaf, fruit cake, plenty of dried fruits, raisin, sultana, earthy, woody, ryvita, oatcakes, touch of spice (including ginger) and millionaires shortbread with a drying, woody finale. Medium body and light carbonation. A hearty a fairly sweet malty cask ale. Not the sort of thing you see too often in these parts. Quite pleasant.
