This stout poured a deep black colour with a creamy, brown head. Nice lacing. Scents include roasted malts, dark toast and cocoa. First swig was thick, sweet and bold. First flavours of chocolate milk, molasses, coffee, cream and a little smoke. Finish is burnt and sweet with cocoa and smoke flavours lingering.

(473ml can from 4th and 7, Toronto) Pours black with a small deep brown head and no lace. Aroma of cacao, toasted nuts, caramel, slightly acidic roastiness, floral vanilla. Flavour is chocolate-tinged semi-sweet malts, light moderate roast with a little acidity, dry toasty hazelnut, softly sweet vanilla, no real lactose profile, drying finish with no hint of the booze but a little roast/hazelnut bitterness. Medium-bodied for style, soft carbonation. Solid stuff though not really pastry, more of a hazelnut stout than a nutella one.
