Namned Bomble Bee 17 in Sweden and The Bee 17 in the UK.

Bomble Bee 17 turned out pretty much how we wanted a pilsener style lager from our backyard brewery to be. Golden colour and a pearly white head. Elegant dry body and a refreshing bitterness. But then, while lagering, our brewmaster chose to bombard the brew with hops to give the beer its final profile. Grassy Saaz battling Flowery Willamette for your nose’s attention. We call it a Hop-Struck Pilsener.

Klar brun farge med hvitt skum. Lukter malt og litt krydder. Lettdrikkelig pilsner.

Bottle. Has a clear amber colour with an off-white head. Strange and fruity aroma of dust, apricots, grass, wet hay and some candy. The flavor is more similar to a Cech lager with saaz, wet hay, grass and fruity undertones. Has a slick and silky mouth feel, light body and a very light bitterness. A very strange lager with an off-centered aroma. Okay some how.

Can from Ocado as a gift. Nice deep golden colour with a thin smooth head. Malty honeyed aroma, slight metallic and grassy notes. Starts sweet and malty with a bitter and slightly acrid note at the end. More honey in the aftertaste. It isn’t bad and the hops add a bit of character. However the balance is a bit off and it isn’t much better than your average macro lager.

Can from Sainsbury’s. Amber in colour, with a tight, white, head. Sweet, flabby, malt aroma with a touch of leafy hop. Flavour was more appealing, with some full-bodied, slightly bready malts, hint of orange fruit and solid, bitter, finish. Fine lager.
