Namned Bomble Bee 17 in Sweden and The Bee 17 in the UK.

Bomble Bee 17 turned out pretty much how we wanted a pilsener style lager from our backyard brewery to be. Golden colour and a pearly white head. Elegant dry body and a refreshing bitterness. But then, while lagering, our brewmaster chose to bombard the brew with hops to give the beer its final profile. Grassy Saaz battling Flowery Willamette for your nose’s attention. We call it a Hop-Struck Pilsener.

Big foamy foam, bubbly bubbliness and light brown liquid. Stinks of tin and little else. Flavour is soft graham cracker and a slight citrus finish. Medium mouthfeel. Some good things going on here but I wonder if the can format isn't removing a few essential elements.

Can. A quid. Lidl. Irked to see some ratings below mention 69p at Home Bargains. I feel robbed. Anyhow. Clear, medium amber. Thick and foamy, just off white head. Nose has stinky sweet malt. Whiff of privet leaf hop. A bit syrupy. Taste is jarring, syrupy sweetness, and harsh, metallic bitterness. Sticky mouthfeel. Harsh bitterness to finish. Pretty poor, even at a pound a go.

330ml can, into a Chimay chalice at home on 21st April 2018. Clean and clear golden body, smooth white foaming head. Grainy aroma and taste, semi-bitter hops add a little excitement but this isn't a good Lager/Pilsner at all.

330ml can, BREWER: Daniel - present from Daniel. Golden amber colour, white foam head leaving alittle lacing and grassy, grainy aroma. Taste is grains, caramel, hay, with grassy, citric bitterness. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry grassy slightly metallic bitter finish. Quite OK.

Can from Home Bargains, Manchester. Golden with a hoppy nose, although its lager-malt character is more evident in its taste, however it's still quite hoppy here.
