Bottle 50 cl. Opaque dark brown, frothy light brown carbonation. Carbonation is a bit too rich for me. Subtle roast in the nose, toasted nuts and dark chocolate. Thinnish body, has an almost Bourbony feel, very downplayed roast, again dark chocolate. Almost like a Dark Mild or something. Very pleasant actually. 201114

Flaske 0,5l fra dagligvarebutikk i Tromsø. Drukket i heimen 1 Des 13 til spekemat. Veldig mørk amber. Høyt luftig skum med litt farge. Mye lacing. Pent! God aroma av røstet malt. Smaken lett røstet med hint av julens krydder. Litt bunnfall.

500 ml bottle. Clear, dark brown body with a big, creamy mocha head. Aroma has dark malt, coffee, juniper and a hint of chocolate. Flavor is sweet, dark malt, chocolate, juniper, spices, slightly roasted and moderate bitterness. Fine body and long, malty and spicy aftertaste. A bit strange this one, I like the juniper/spice part of it, but somehow the combination is not in balance with the rest of the beer. Lovely for a few sips and then a bit too much in a way. Might have something to do with the low alcohol (for the grocery marked). Appreciate the effort for a nice spicy Christmas beer outside the Vinmonopolet marked.

500ml bottle, batch 642, from Kjeller 5 in Tromsø. Low, bubbly, beige head. Dotted spots to the glassware. Close to clear red-brown body colour. Delicious aroma of smooth chocolate malts, slightly roasted. Dusty hops beneath. Fine balanced taste profile of malty sweetness and fruity hops, nicely spiced by a touch of ginger. Mild roasted bitter ending. Easy to drink and easy to like. (Christmastime at home 25.12.2013).
