CHOCOLATE OBOE is an evolution of our annually-brewed porter OBOE. We’ve joined forces with none other than cocoa-head Phil Landers from London’s wonderful chocolate producer Land.
Together with Phil we’ve selected cocoa husks and nibs to compliment our porter. We’ve adjusted OBOE’s grist with new malts, and added Venezuelan cocoa husks to the mash. Once the beer’s conditioned we steep it in Philippine cocoa nibs for some chocolatey complexity.
OBOE, meet CHOCOLATE OBOE.

Can at home on Hackney - picked up from Quarter Store. Pours deep brown with a modest, foamy beige head. Light-medium sweet with notes of chalky cocoa, mild roast, nips of raisins. Medium bodied with active, massaging carbonation. Finishes with more chalky cocoa, dried berries. Not bad.
