Double Bourbon and Rye Barrel-Aged Barleywine with Meadowfoam Honey.
In 2021, we brewed a Barleywine with our friend Brad Clark of Private Press and aged it in a blend of Willett Bourbon and Willett Rye Barrels. As a follow up to our earlier Private Press collaboration Maple in the Wood, we wanted to use honey for this beer. Reverberant uses copious amounts of our favorite Meadowfoam Honey from the Pacific Northwest to add its vanilla cupcake nuances. After 2 years of resting in the Willett Barrels, we moved the rye/bourbon barrel aged blend of Reverberant into fresh Willett Bourbon Barrels for 1 more year and their "double barrel' aging. The honey and the malt bill accompanied by the beautiful Willett barrels and the aging time has allowed us to create something to share that we are incredibly proud of. There is also no better person than Brad Clark to work on this collaboration with and share our time with.

Intense barrel notes, warming alcohol, hints of honey, bourbon, rye, stingy oak, roastiness, chocolate sauce, toffee, hints of prunes, figs and syrup. Pretty complex and intense slow sipper. Nice one.

Here we go again. Boozy, medium body. Strong barrel, chocolate, caramel, malty. Rich, excellent.

Bottle thanks to Travis. Pours a dark brown with small tan head. The aroma is toffee, rye, vanilla, wood, licorice. Slick body, rye, roast, licorice, cocoa, nice sweetness, enjoyed this.
