Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Deep mahogany colour. Mostly clear. No head. Nose has red wine dregs. Dark chocolate truffle. Wet leather. Sweaty brett. Booze steeped vine fruit. Prunes. Some earthy notes. Tobacco maybe. Smells great. Taste is sweet and fruity, with an earthy bitterness. Smooth on the palate. Minimal carbonation. Fairly rich, although it belies the 16% by some way. Lingering earthy, vinous bitterness to finish. Great sipper.

Keg at the Rusty Bucket, Eltham. Black pour with a blink and you'll miss it tan head. Warming aromas of raisins, the finest Bordeaux, plum jam, blackberries, blackcurrants, prunes. Flavours of red grapes, raisins, strawberry jam, dark plums, prunes. Huge alcohol burn. Finishes like a fine red wine. Excellent!
