Aroma is very fruity with lots of berry and tart cherry notes. Medium light complimentary whiskey notes with some light oak notes. Hints of malt - caramel, toffee and toast. Light spicy phenolic note. Pours brown with some ruby and amber highlights with a thin tan head that recedes fairly quickly to the edges. No lacing or legs. Flavor is moderately sour with strong berry and tart cherry notes. A little more malt than in the aroma with caramel, toffee and toasted bread. Faint roast notes. Light nuttiness and oak character. Lighter whiskey note than in the aroma. The flavor is more oak forward and malty than the aroma but with a strong fruity acidity. Hint of a spicy phenolic note in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium to medium light bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall another really nice sour from Crooked Stave. I’m not sure its way better than the base Origins but its definitely at least as nice. The aroma has a nice whiskey character, but that seems to be hidden in the flavor by the acidity. Reminiscent of a bourbon cocktail like an old fashioned, but substitute out the sweetness for acidity. Could use a touch more carbonation.

Bottle thanks to the Dood! Pours a clear ruby red with a gray head that dissipates quickly and completely. Aroma has a good amount of brett with sour red fruits and a touch of sweet whiskey. Flavor has sour stone fruits throughout with a bit of brett and whiskey notes.

12.7 oz. bottle, sent from mista (thanks a lot, Geoff), pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out slightly tart dark fruits, almost like a Flanders Red, with some whiskey barrels buried underneath. Flavour brings out tart dark fruits, some slight vinegar, and moderate whiskey barrels. Very complex, with all flavours integrated beautifully. You wouldn't think to age a Flanders Red in whiskey barrels, but the combination is executed wonderfully here. Excellent stuff.

Medium brown color. Very sour nose with lots of wood, cherries and just a faint hint of Whiskey and milk chocolate. Very sour mouth, but light body with lots of vanilla, oak and a touch of whiskey. Very drinkable, despite being so sour. Fairly big vanilla and oaky finish.The light body and although the sour hits you at first as intense it subsides after a bit. Really creamy finish. Amazing beer, very versatile.

Bottle at "Ölkalas hos Ekne". Brownish with a thin tan head. Dark fruit, wood, some whiskey and light spices. Rather vinous with a tart finish. Descent.

May 20/2013 Bottle. Pours with a very deep brown hued body with a tan head that lasts. Aromas are of damp leaves, rich funk, brown sugar, walnut, vinous, rich barrel, toasted malt, medium brett. Flavors are highly acidic and clean, low acetic, toasty, light barrel. Very high acid, moderate funk. Clean, tart and bone dry. More acidic and less malt than the original.
