An extremely long time ago, we were able to come across some very rare barrels. We immediately knew they were destined to become a sought-after beer for our 25th anniversary. We used our thoroughbred base beer for our anniversary stout, knowing that the lower mash temperatures and body would blend perfectly into the wheated bourbon from these 15-year old Pappy Van Winkle barrels. Aged for FIFTY-TWO MONTHS (!!!), this beer showcases the balance of wonderful bourbon and delicate stout flavors.

Bottle, 650 ml, courtesy of Eric. Shared with him, MiroB and others. Black with tan head. Nice roasty chocolate notes, barrel, cocoa, light fruity notes, dry barrel, lots of barrel. Oily.

Keg at Lucille at the GTMW pre-party, 8/11/23. Black, thin brown head. Aroma of roast, chocolate, coffee, bourbon, cola, vanilla, cherry. Taste is roast, chocolate, cherry, vanilla, bourbon, cola. Boozy. Nice.
