Rerate, 500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 7.0%. Deep orange to amber colour, moderate off-white head. Malty aroma, notes of caramel and Christmas spices, including anise. Medium sweet and malty flavour, distinct notes of Christmas spices, also some caramel. Skip the anise, please! Not much hops. Not bad, but my first rating was a bit too high.Original rating: Sample from bottle at local tasting. ABV is 7.0%. Spicy aroma and flavour, fairly nice. Would buy again. Will rerate when I have a full bottle.

Bottle. An almost clear, amber colored beer topped by a dense, finger-thick off-white head. It’s lightly spiced and cellar-ish on the nose, hints of star anise blending in. There’s star anise in the flavor too, with malty sweetness and hints of caramel tending towards toffee. Full body with a nice carbonation level. There’s qualities here, but the spice profile doesn’t suit my palate very well. 130308
