Sugar Creek Malting Company sourced regionally produced rye and then carefully malted this special rye to contribute vanilla and spice notes to the body, mouthfeel, and taste of this beer. To bolster that flavor we added ginger root for an additional spicy character, sumac berries to dry out the beer with a unique sourness unlike anything else, and finally a small amount of black pepper for further spice and depth.

Draft at Old Fashion in Madison. Bubbly ginger ale looking brew no head. Nose is herbaceous more than strict rye. Tastes of lemon, some sourdough, cilantro, rye, arugula. Thin bodied. Don’t know what to make of this. Good palate cleanser prior to a meal.
