Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with no head. The aroma is brown sugar, yeast, and cognac. Thin mouthfeel with light sourness and sweet malt. Hides alcohol extremely well, easy to drink, really enjoyed this one.

Bottle 37,5 cl. Courtesy of adnielsen. Pours a cloudy opaque nutty brown with a tiny off-white head. Loads of horse blanket in the nose, more acetobacter than Brett really - combined with some overripe plums. Medium body, close to flat, again tons of overripe fruit. Heavy acetic balsamico with a distinct woody edge - if not exactly recognizable as. 150413

Bottle. Pours with a noticeable lack of carbonation. Muddy brown with only a few scant bubbles. Aromas are of mild funk, wet wood, currants, vinous, cinnamon, red wine, brandy, brown sugar, caramel. Flavors are mildly tart, brown sugar, vinous, cognac, dark fruits. Berries, funk, medium bitter and tannic. Very low carbonation, fuller bodied, warming.

Bottle - thanks Travis! Pours cloudy reddish brown, almost mahogany, with a small off white head that dissipates quickly with minimal lacing. Aroma is woody, tart, sour cherries, and a bit of caramel. Flavor is the same, tart and sour cherry notes prominent, a bit of boozy cognac. Very light sweetness and medium tartness. Medium body, no carbonation. Light warming alcoholic finish. A bit raw, and lacking the depth of character of the better sours.

Bottle @ Exira Beer Summit III. Pours a bit hazy dark brown appearance with no head. Moderately tart plum, dark grape, spirit, a touch boozy, oaky, fig, tannic aroma. Very nice leather and tannic notes in the nose. Kind of chewy caramel, leather flavor with a dark grape tartness, vanilla, and oak. More tart than the bourbon barrel version with a slight stomach acid note. Fun to try but I didn’t enjoy it as much as the bourbon version.
