Cask at EBF XV, 08/08/13. Mid black with a good sized tan head. Nose is roast malts, liqourice, treacle toffee, light sour notes, hint of brett. Taste comprises roast malts, chocolate, dark berry fruits, touch lactic. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation. Certainly one of my lower rated impys, not a great nose, sour notes (unintentional or not) didn’t really do it for me. The taste profile was ok but nothing from the top draw.

[Cask at Reading BF] Deep brown with a thin white head and a prickly fizz. Lots of chocolate; a little spicy. Obvious alcohol, then roasty malt comes through. It’s alright, but it’s not exactly subtle and it feels like it’s dissolving your teeth.
