Denna serie presenteras i oktober varje år i samband med Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival. Idéen är att alltid brygga en begränsad mängd extrem öl enligt ett nytt recept varje gång. 2010 brygde vi en Imperial Stout, 2011 brygde vi en Imperial IPA och 2012 en Imperial Brown Ale med lätt karamellsötma, markerad efterbeska och en tydlig vaniljarom. Humlesorterna Pacific Gem och Super Alpha ger toner av citrongräs, svarta vinbär, tallbarr och örter.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 6 Oct 2012) Amber colour with brief, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of dried fruit, apricots, vanilla and honey. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, apricots, vanilla, honey, hints of oak wood and brown sugar in the finish. Almost full body, fairly sweet with a moderate bitterness. Well balanced and quite tasty. Nice one. (7/4//7/4/14=3.6) Rerate: (Bottle, 18 Dec 2013) Reddish amber colour with dense, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, rye bread, treacle toffee, caramel, black-currant and a whiff of alcohol. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, dried fruit, marmalade candy, rye bread, treacle toffee, black-currant, vanilla and a balanced herbal bitterness in a finish with a vinous touch of alcohol. Almost full body, fairly sweet. There’s some vanilla around, but most of it is hidden behind alcohol and a sugary sweetness. Not very well balanced, but interesting and quite nice.

Bottled@SBWF2012. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is earth, leather, herbs and some mild fruity notes. Flavour is vanilla, sweet malts, toffee, herbs and some mild nectary and resiny notes as well. Mild sweet alcohol as well.

Pours dark reddish brown with a foamy head. Aroma of vanilla, spices, some caramely malts and chocolate. Taste is malty and spicy with a lot of vanilla and caramely notes. Finish is warming and smooth with some vanilla notes. Okay, a bit unbalanced.
