Orange brown with a large tan head that left great lacing. Toasty malt, caramel, faint fruit and a bit of astringency. Medium finish. Medium bodied and smooth.

Quite dark, like very dark root beer. Decent clean beer aroma, has a bit of roastiness on the olfactory. Taste of course, is a bit strong at +7%, but it’s not over the top like many other doppels. Background hints of hay and slag, in a good way. Malty alky palate but not offensive. A friendly entry in the doppel bock style and overall not bad. Finish is not as oppressive as I was anticipating. Short mild bitter ending.
