Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a deep dark murky mahogany colored body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up whiskey, molasses, chocolate, coconut, more coconut and then a sense of boozy oak. The taste delivers similar notes as I get whiskey and coconut sweetness flowing into smooth chocolate and molasses like notes. To midway the whiskey and booze tries to take over leaving only thin chocolate and molasses notes struggling to be heard. This could have had less barrel time to achieve some balance because it is barrel heavy as is.
