Nitro at Frontier Brewing and Taproom.
Pours pitch black, watching the cascading going on. Excellent lacing.
Smell is of coffee and roasted malt, not shy with either.
Taste is pretty much equal portions of coffee and roasted malt, bitter dark chocolate as well. Smooth tasting overall.
Creamy mouthfeel, enjoyable drinker.

12oz bottle pours with a nice dark body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up pleasing coffee notes that seem to have layers of chocolate, earthiness, a dash of smoke and then slivers of burnt roastiness. The taste is similar where dark roasted coffee blends with chocolate and earthy wet tobacco. To midway it picks up a sort of smoky slightly ashy sensation. Pretty solid porter with enough depth and interest to make me happy and yet this remains easy drinking.

Bottle: I was surprised to see Big Sky release another coffee porter, since it seemed like the Cowboy Coffee just came out 2-3 years ago, but they are different enough. Dark brown color is textbook with a modest ring/cap of beige head. Camp robber is a lighter, less roasty version that I found had a very rich and true coffee taste. Minimal roast and bitters. Creamy, yet middle to lightweight body. The nose has more of an espresso vibe with hints of mocha. Overall much more of a coffee focus than Cowboy.
