0.33l bottle. A crystal clear golden one with a small but lasting just off-white head. The nose has caramel, toffee, almond flour, fyrstekake and a little bit of zesty apple. Not all that bad actually. Lots of sweetness in the taste. A bit to sweet for my liking to be honest. Tons of buttery toffee and almonds. It has a soft oily mouthfeel and a average carbonation level. Lots of apples - the red sweet kind here. Just not my kind of flavors in this, but it's absolutely drinkable. 18.07.2013

Bottle. A clear, amber beer with a dense off-white head. Malty nose with toffee and dried fruits. Lots of malts in the aroma, caramel, toffee, and general fruitiness. There’s a nice bitterness in the flavor, with toffee and roasted notes. Bitterness towards the end. Fruity finish with caramel. A decent one, but boring. 131129

Bottle at home. The colour is golden dark straw-yellow with a medium, off-white head. Aroma of fudge, oak, grass and vanilla. The flavour is alike but not that complex, and is dominated by sweet malt and grassy hops. Has a slick and rich mouth feel, and a medium bitterness. A decent english strong ale but not that complex as suspected, and is quite easy-drinking.

Single from the LCBO. Pours a clean golden colour with an amber hue. Frothy warm cap, decent retention which ends up coating the brew with a creamy top and ring. Big aromas of pilsner characteristics, and after breathing, grainy cereal and butterscotch appear. The taste though, does recall the typical Innis & Gunn caramel and hints of wood. A little more hop than usual for them, but still not much for a pale ale. Probably wanted and what makes a Scottish Pale Ale. Always drinkable and nice to see new brews from this brewery.

330ml bottle from Tesco - Clear golden pour, thin white head. A nose of vanilla, wood and a touch of grass. A syrupy mouthfeel makes this seem a lot sweeter than it is. Sweet on the way out with a creamy vanilla aftertaste. Okay, but nowhere near as good as I&G’s other offerings.
