A German-style golden lager brewed with imported German pils malt and Saaz and Hallertau hops. This light-bodied beer offers a gentle, dry finish. A perennial favorite in the Sly Fox pubs and our brewer's go-to session beer.

HA HA< Kudos for the cool can top, just didn’t know how to pour it. Big clear conventional colored beer with a big larger bubble head. Big clean blast of a beer with little carbonation. Yes, some bitter bite but it does seem to be pretty fresh, except for the level of co2. Perhaps it was packed that way. Seems to be more alky than the 4.5 listed here. Yes a beefy beer with a low alky content. Those hops or bitter something continues to build on the sides of my tongue.

Can from Cotteridge Wines, Brum. Clear gold thin white head. Does exactly what it says on the tin quite literally to be honest. Easy drinking, pale malts are ok, aroma is ok, some hop on finish. Altogether well constructed. Gold and refreshing. Good Helles.

Can from Appellation Wines. Good lagery nose - cooked vegetables, sweet cereal crops. tastes brings out some light lemon notes. Creamy palate, but a little too astringent on the finish for me. Good interpretation of the style though.

Golden, clear, no head (drunk from can)
Aroma of sweet pale light lager malt, sweet cereal
Taste as aroma, soft bit spicy lager hops. soft cereals, dull
Palate - Medium carb, medium light body, quite oily, fairly sweet palate. Finish as main flavour.
Overall - Better than a standard lager but was boring and dull for me

355ml can from Appellation Wines. Pours golden with gentle bubbles and a decent head. The nose has gentle golden malt and a hint of citrus. The taste has more of the same. The palate has a light to medium body but in the case of the helles style what is more important is the balance and this is one that a Bavarian brewer would be proud of. The texture is creamy and the finish is clean but not too bitter. Overall, one of the best Helles outside Germany.
