Produced in 2010: This is a celebration of our fifteenth year making craft beer and it stands as an example of the bold flavorful beers that we have come to make. This is not a timid ale; it’s an intense, full-bodied smoke experience. Fifteen has a rich flavor profile balancing notes of dark roast, burnt toast, and spicy rye with a deep earthy aroma of smoke and wood. 12 ounce bottle opened 9/23/10. Pours a deep, dark brown appearing black in the glass. Thin dark brown head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of smoke, chocolate, faint raisins and roasted malts. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, caramel and a fairly strong smoky note. Minty hop finish. Full bodied.

Aroma: The nose is smoked meat, dark chocolate, earth, and lots of roasted malts
Appearance: It pours a pitch black color with a small dark brown head, minimal lace
Flavor: The taste is smokey and malty, quite roasted, not much sweetness, light bitterness
Palate: The body is relatively full ( call it medium-full), with a slightly sticky feel on the mouth
Overall Impression: I can see the appeal of this style, I really can, but I just don't think it is for me. I like smoked meat, and I like beer, but I just don't love the way the two mesh together. In this style, I tend to prefer the more subtlely smoked examples, and this brew is not exactly subtle on the smoked meat. Despite all of that, this one works pretty well, and the more I had of the bottle, the better I liked it. This was a troublesome one for me to rate, but I think I got it to the right place. It isn't my favorite, but I like what they have going on here.

bottle pours thick black with a medium light brown head. Aroma is a mix of liquid smoke, roasted coffee beans, and light notes of cocoa. Flavor is thick and rich roasted malts, burnt sugar, semi-sweet coffee, and a nice dose of smoked malt in the finish. This is really well done.

On tap at Mekong for the 15th Anniversary Party on 08/19/2010. Big black body with a medium creamy tan head. Big raost and chocolate aroma. Big roast and bacon falvor with chocolate and caramel. Medium full body with moderately high carbonation.

Sample from a bottle at the Day Before Labor Day party. Pours an oily black color with a medium frothy light brown head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Roasted malt, coffee and floral hops aroma. Medium body with flavors of smoked malt, roasted coffee, hops and a bit of wood. The finish is smoky with a roasty malt aftertaste. Above average anniversary brew overall.

Pours black into a tulip. Mocha head with excellent retention recedes leaving sheet lacing. Sweet smoke and licorice aromas. Smooth with front to back smoked pumpernickel and chocolate. Dry, tingling sour dark, dried pit fruit and resin finish.

12 ounce bottle. Completely black, small dark brown head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of rubbing alcohol, chocolate, roasted coffee beans. Taste is smooth ans silky, chocolate liquer, smoke, bourbon. Very nice.

Bottle. So I’m kinda excited about this, since Weyerbacher makes some pretty good Imperial Stouts. The used motor oil pour with almost no head at all confirms my sense of dark foreboding and aromas have a typical Weyerbacher Impy Stout edge of bananas that compliments the chocolate and charcoal scents nicely. Flavor is a very nice mix of these elements... tastes kind of like Old Heathen with a little more punch and a charcoal edge to it... very nice. Best description I can come up with is a chocolate covered banana dipped in ashes. Sounds kind of gross, but this is one to try... trust me, you’ll like it.

from a bottle. a truly thick blackish brown liquid. smells quite friendly, evidently no hints of the 10+% alky content. just a ring for an annulus on the top of this brew. thich imperial stout palate coats the inside of the mouth. this impy stout stifling sensation is backed by a smoke background. however, the smothering taste bud effect of the impy stout and the smoke are barely perceivable as different because this stuff is so oily syrup. terrible rototilling garden full of weed across this lager lovers taste buds. way tooooooo much wew. on style for an impy stout but smoked, i could care less about. does not stack up well against east end heritage porter and o’fallons smoked. long bitter typical impy stout linger for a finish that makes it hard to take. ignore my numbers if you like imp stout or smoked, cause I’m a humanistic rating lager loven fool. somebody virtually gave this to me cause I never would ah bought it. way too complex for this nobody of a beer drinker. not happy even tho i’m getten dizzy at the end of this glass. old 20,000 mile shovelhead motor oil
