750ml bottle. Cloudy, dark brown colour with average to huge, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Roasty, minimally chocolately, dark and caramel, minimally nutty, malty aroma, hints of milk chocolate and coffee with residual aspects of their grainy descent, some dark caramel, a touch of malt lozenge, whiffs of chestnut, Brazil nut, cocoa. Taste is roasty, slightly nutty, minimally chocolately, dark and caramel malty, some residual sweetness, hints of milk chocolate, nougat, hazelnut, some dark caramel, a touch of cocoa; inconspicuous, minimally fruity, hoppy counterpart with a touch of yellow apple. Slightly creamy, oily, watery texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine and soft carbonation. I remember to rank the Dunkel better than the Helles as I tasted them both parallel on the occasion of purchase; that rate turned, now as I had them both after two months of cellaring. A relatively high degree of complexity, though on a mediocre level of intensity, nice developement of flavours while warming up - fine Dunkel.
