Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a hazy dark amber reddish color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty yeasty caramel aroma with some spicy hints. Fruity malty spicy yeasty caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty spicy finish.

On tap. Pours a hazy and opaque dark brown or perhaps nutty brown with an off-white head. The nose has Belgian yeast and Belgian sugars and spice. Medium body, fairly sweet and candy-like with Christmas spice - cloves and star aniseed? And lots of yeasty Belgian notes. Ends surprisingly dry with licorice accents. Not bad as such, just somewhat stereotypical and impersonal. 081210

Draft. An unclear red-brown beer with a huge tan head. The aroma has notes of spices - cloves and cinnamon, combined with notes of brewmash and malt. The flavor is sweet and very spicy - staranise and cloves coming thru most powerful, combined with medium notes of malt and fruit, and with a light acidic edge, leading to a dry and spicy finish.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy brown with a small off-white head. Fruity, spiced and dark caramelish aroma. Spiced, dark malty and breadish. Rather dry. Lasting spiced flavoured. Dry and bitter finish. Too spiced and dry for my liking.
