Can picked up at Marine Hotel, Stonehaven. It pours ever so slightly hazy deep amber with a rugged, thick off - white head - not dissimilar to orval. The aroma is musty, funky brett vibes, brown bread, digestive biscuit, dried lime, gooseberry, melon and white grape. The taste is firmly dry, bitterness which builds and lingers, toothy, metallic twang, deep funk, barnyard, Brett, spicy, fizzy lemon - lime, pithy, zesty, sour white grape, gooseberry, melon, hint of acidity, white wine, brown bread, digestive biscuit and dry wood with a dry, funky finish. Medium body and moderate+, fluffy carbonation. Definitely has plenty of orval characteristics. Fruit, dry and funky. A nice ode to one of the best beers in existence.
