Draft. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt aand coffee. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt and coffee with a slight acidic edge.

Draught @ Mikkeller & Friends, Stefansgade 35, DK-2200 Copenhagen N, Denmark.ABV: 9.0%. Clear dark black colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, moderate to light heavy hoppy, citrus, licorice hops. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dark roastd, chocolate, moderate hoppy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130523]

Draft @ Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty hoppy chocolate aroma. Roasted malty hoppy bitter chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty hoppy bitter chocolate finish.

200ml, draught at Mikkeller Bar. Black coloured body with a deep rustic shade. Tiny, fawn-coloured head leaving spotty lacing behind. Inviting aromas of dark malts and red oranges. Taste follows the nose with chocolate and citrus hops, well balanced. Roasted bitter ending, long-lived. Medium to full bodied. A well made interpretation of the style (Copenhagen 26.05.2013).

Draught@Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Black colour, brown mediumsized head. Aroma is caramel, liquorice, wood and some mild leathery notes. Flavour is nutty, fruity, some liquorice, toffee and mild roasted notes. Balanced, and actually quite nice Black IPA.

Tap @ Mikkeller, Stefansgade. Black with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and moderate hoppy - grapefruit. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 230513

From tap. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is fruity and grapefruity. Fruity, bitter and grapefruity. Bitter and peachy to a marmelade fruity finish.

Draught. Mild hoppy aroma. Very dark brown colour. Small head. The flavour is sweet and hoppy. A bit sugary, and with some wet hop notes. Roasted finish. OK balanced but not quite my style.
